In the iSupport approach, macros are self-contained and driven from the technician side. They require no preloaded applications or scripts on the client side. As result, macros can easily be used with first-time clients.
Instructions and sample programming are available in the Macro User Guide. The iSupport macro language is based on the individual primitive functions of iSupport and includes conditional operators to form programmable test sequences. Macros can be viewed and created using any text editor.
Using macros, a technician can diagnose and fix problems with a click of the mouse without having to reinvent a solution on-the-fly every time the problem is encountered. Macros provide efficient and repeatable results and an instant knowledge base for technicians.
Equally importantly, macros can be used with all iSupport access and communication methods. A macro used in a remote iSupport session, for example, can be applied equally well to the technician's next onsite visit or an out-of-hours session with an unattended system.
